The smaller is squat and round, with engraved flowers and long leaves, and a ball stopper.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSilver overlay was a turn of the century technique: the design was painted on the glass in a conductive paste, the bottle was left in a silver plating bath until a thick layer of metal built up, and the silver was then engraved by hand. The taller bottle is marked sterling. Neither is monogrammed.
