Shipping policy

Every piece we sell is packed by hand. Antiques do not travel well in generic packaging, so we build the packing around the object: double-boxing where it is warranted, corner protection for framed work, and rigid internal bracing for anything fragile. This takes time, and we would rather a piece arrive intact than arrive quickly.

Processing Time

Orders are typically packed and dispatched within 3 to 5 business days. Larger, heavier, or unusually fragile pieces may take longer to crate, and we will let you know if that is the case for your order.

Domestic Rates

Shipping within the United States is calculated at checkout based on the piece's weight, dimensions, and your delivery address, using live USPS rates — there are no flat or flat-by-size rates.

Oversized, exceptionally heavy, or exceptionally fragile pieces — chandeliers, large framed paintings, and similar — may require crating or freight service beyond standard carrier shipping. Where that is the case we will contact you with a quote before dispatch, and you are free to cancel for a full refund if the rate does not suit you. We will never charge additional shipping without your agreement.

Insurance and Tracking

All shipments are insured for the full purchase price and sent with tracking. We email tracking details as soon as a piece is on its way.

International Shipping

We ship internationally. International rates are calculated at checkout by the carrier — USPS, FedEx, or DHL Express — based on destination, weight, and dimensions.

Customs duties, import taxes, and brokerage fees are the responsibility of the buyer and are not included in the shipping rate quoted at checkout. These are assessed by the destination country and are outside our control. Please be aware that some countries restrict the import of certain antique materials; buyers are responsible for confirming that a piece may lawfully be imported to their address.

Local Collection

Pieces may be collected in person in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania by prior arrangement. Email us before ordering and we will make the arrangements.

If Something Arrives Damaged

Contact us within 3 days of delivery at valleyhouseantiquesllc@gmail.com with photographs of the piece and its packaging, and retain all packing materials. See our Refund Policy for the full process.
