Antique John Alcock Vincennes Transferware Side Plate, Brown, Cobridge c.1850
A documented Victorian Staffordshire transferware side plate in John Alcock's Vincennes pattern, c.1850, backstamped on the verso with the J. Alcock, Vincennes, Cobridge cartouche. The brown transfer centers a romantic landscape of castle ruins, trees, and small figures by water, framed by a dense Gothic Revival border of cartouches and scenic vignettes on a twelve-sided plate. John Alcock worked the Cobridge pottery c.1848-1861, and Vincennes is one of his documented romantic transferware patterns. The surface shows overall crazing consistent with its age, with some light staining in the glaze and no chips or cracks visible. A genuine mid-19th-century English antique, good for wall display, a table accent, or a collector grouping.
Crazing consistent with age. No chips or cracks visible. Backstamp clear.
