L.G. Wright Hand-Painted Milk Glass Candy Box, Pink Roses, Mid 20th Century
A hand-painted milk glass covered candy box attributed to the L.G. Wright Glass Company (New Martinsville, West Virginia), mid-to-late 20th century. The bulbous white milk glass body and domed lid are painted with pink roses, cream blossoms, and green foliage with raised white enamel dots. L.G. Wright (1937–1999) specialized in Victorian-style reproductions and ran a hand-decorating department from 1968 that hand-painted floral motifs on milk glass; this piece comes from that tradition. A decorative covered jar for a vanity, shelf, or treats. Milk glass, 7 in. tall x 6.5 in. wide.
Excellent preloved condition with the painted decoration strong and the raised enamel dots largely intact.
