Original Pencil Drawing, Stone Urn, Jardin du Luxembourg, Signed Dated 1987
An original pencil drawing of one of the great stone urns of the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris, the ram's-head handles, floral crown, and layered stone plinth rendered with careful, architectural observation. The Jardin du Luxembourg and its classical statuary have drawn artists for generations, and this is a hand-drawn study of one of its best-known urns, an original work on paper, not a reproduction. Signed with a monogram and dated 1987 at lower right, and inscribed in the artist's hand "Jardin de Luxembourg / for Dottie & Phil." The monogram is not legible enough to identify the artist, so it is offered as an accomplished original drawing by an unidentified hand. Framed under glass with a double mat, 19.5 x 15.25 in. framed.
Drawing clean and bright. Mat and frame in good condition.
