Pair French Glass Beaded Basket Chandeliers, Empire Taste, Early 20th Century

Sale price$1,100.00

A matched pair of beaded-glass basket chandeliers — strung by hand to catch the light, made to hang in sequence down a hall, a stair, or over an island.

A pair of French glass beaded basket chandeliers in the Empire taste, early to mid twentieth century. Each of gourd form, the metal armature hand-strung with twisted glass-bead ropes over a lattice of faceted glass drops, mounted with cast gilt-metal cherub mascarons at the crown and figural mounts to the lower band. The matched pairing and basket silhouette suit a hall, stair, or kitchen island beautifully — pairs in this form are markedly harder to find than singles. Faceted glass throughout, confirmed by hand; rewired with modern sockets. Each measures approximately 26 in. high by 14 in. wide. Sold as a pair.
